Sustainable Farming Incentive (SFI) update

by | Sep 30, 2021 | News

Yesterday, George Eustice spoke at the NFU conference, providing more details about the Sustainable Farming Incentive (SFI). He said, “The ethos at the heart of our future policy is to support the choices of individual farm enterprises. The era of top down EU rules is over. Some assets that were previously dubbed “ineligible features” under the Common Agricultural Policy, will start to have their value recognised and rewarded.”

In review, his speech indicates there is an abandonment of many past bureaucratic rules from the previous EU Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) and a confirmation of focus on improvement reporting as a key to new funding gains by land managers.
