A very good article by Olivia Midgley
RUK has been working to solve this problem since 2018. Today, we have established a proven process of comprehensive, scientific protocols suitable to answer DEFRA grey areas and also serve farmers with the actual ability to self-determine their soil health index relative to their needs to meet legislation. This allows them to freely engage in the R&D of various soil amendment processes and gain a data range including chemistry, carbon and microbiome for determining the value of any new trials amendments.
This is to be supported by a new software developed by RUK to resolve the communications issues for reporting the new data to DEFRA by farmers and allow the new pricing schedule to fit to common known standards suitable for national use.
